Psychmed is a leading provider of evidenced based Psychological treatment programs. We are a community based service organisation with no religious affiliation.

We provide complimentary specialised and articulated evidenced based psychological treatment programs for community based primary contact agencies and partners such as General Practices, Mental Health Service, St Vincent de Paul, The Salvation Army, The Smith Family, Anglicare, Centacare, Uniting Care Wesley, and Relationships Australia.

We are committed to social equity and supporting the community and believe that everyone is entitled to receive professional treatment from experienced clinical psychologists regardless of their religious beliefs, age, gender, sexual orientation, culture, social, or economic circumstances.

Our Commitment to Transcultural mental health services

PsychMed values and celebrates Queensland’s cultural diversity and employs the services of clinicians and business staff from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.

One of our corporate goals is to continually improve access to evidenced based Clinical Psychological services for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) & refugee communities.

Our Psychologists and staff speak Greek, Italian, Polish, German, French, Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Regional dialects Malay, Indonesian and Vietnamese.

Our commitment to Indigenous mental Health

PsychMed acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands of Sunshine Coast, the Gubbi Gubbi people. PsychMed recognises their ongoing spiritual and cultural custodianship of these lands. PsychMed is committed to working with Indigenous people, families and communities.
Most of our clinicians have participated in cultural and Indigenous awareness and sensitivity training;
We are proud to have a clinician of Indigenous ancestry and many of our clinicians have worked with Indigenous persons;
Some of our clinicians have extensive experience in rural and remote communities in outback Queensland;
Some have taught cultural sensitivity and working effectively with Indigenous mental health issues, assessment and trained in evidenced based approaches including focused CBT and Narrative Therapy.

PsychMed endorses Australian service excellence standards and working collaboratively with consumers, carers, shared care providers and stakeholders to guide programs and accountability measures.

PsychMed uses a range of patient experience measures in conjunction with performance measures to assess the impact of our programs and services to individuals accessing our programs and services. The information gathered is used to assist in ongoing planning, monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of our programs and services.
